To Budapest & Back

Szia!! Jim & I spent a wonderful week in Budapest, Hungary. Even though they are part of the EU, Hungary has not yet switched to the Euro. This has kept costs more reasonable than many of the other eurozone countries. Their public transportation is fabulous and they have a great deal of park space within the city. Entire swaths of city center streets have been converted to pedestrian-only zones and more are in progress.

We stayed at Buda B&B in central Buda. Buda B&B is well located near both metro and tram routes and close to numerous restaurants, and proprietors Ryan & Ron were both great help to us in recommending activities and sights as well as how to get to them.

Hungarian was a pretty tough language to make sense of, but fortunately there were lots of folks who could speak a little English, and menus and signs in most places were in both Hungarian and English. Late October was a great time to visit Budapest; we enjoyed cool, clear days and crisp evenings. Of course, we saved lots of things to explore on our next visit! Hello!
