Rock-N-(please don't)-Roll !!!

Today we spent placing boulders and smaller rocks dry stacking behind house just off the patio to terrace, then filled in with native soil / fill. Mainly to hide the large foundation, and to give it a more natural feel. Stanley used the large hoe ram to knock out the rest of the stone inside the future carport area. We'll use the remaining columns seen above the carport to build a nice covered parking as well as adding a nice deck above. Stanley returns to finish up major earth works tomorrow.

Cleanliness is next to...

... godliness! The widows are so very clean and sparkly!

This is the view to the east from the master bathroom.

On the other hand, sometimes filthiness has its own reward.

Now, which rock goes where?

No rest for the weary...

We are so bushed! Moved wheelbarrows full of sannini and roof tile and and truck bed loads of miscellaneous stuff away from the house so Stanley can do some earthwork begining tomorrow. Jim posted the leftover lumber on Craig's list and a nice fellow came to carry it off. Stanley will scoop out a section of the slope to create a carport area, level the entire area and slope for drainage, and create terraces and stairs along the back. This will take several days total. Also, tomorrow, touch up paint and window washers, yay! Oh, almost forgot.... I stained the remaining trim in the laundry room ans 2nd floor today and Jim glued together the chefs tables in the pantry and grouted the backsplash of the coffee bar. Gotta go sponge it off now...

All in the details...

Bella Cucina

The countertops and backsplash have now had two coats of enhancing sealer. It darkened them and brought out the veining. We hope it will help prevent stains from the yummy pasta sauce and red wine. There's a little wall mounted console in the foyer that is made of the same stone, but with an ogee edge.

Intermissione

Aqua sine intermissione loquitur sed numquam idem iterat.

Water talks incessantly but never repeats itself.
